NEW PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES HUGE BOOST

The Hope Scholarship Fund is both happy and proud to announce that 10,000 Degrees (formerly the Marin Education Fund) has agreed to partner with us in our efforts to assist VHS students. In 2009, the then MEF sponsored 447 scholarships worth $1.8 million. 83% of scholarship recipients graduate with degrees.

10, 000 Degrees brings a fully developed scholarship program that starts with its SAI (Summer Application Institute). This involves an on-campus dormitory experience at a college with rigorous explanation about going to college. Ninety-eight percent (98%) of participants go to college.

With 10,000 Degrees involved, the Hope Fund feels >the future for VHS students is much brighter.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2010

The Hope Fund will give 5 x $2000 scholarships to seniors this 2010 year. We will also have 7 SAI scholarships, 4 for juniors and 3 for seniors this 2010 year.

TEN DOLLARS ($10) FOR 10,000 DEGRESS

Your gift, even $10, will help fund the Summer Application Institute students. This program starts Vallejo High students on the way to receiving from $2500 to $13,000 for each year of college. While in this program students are counseled and mentored. Graduation rate for these students is 83% compared to the national average of 24% for the same student population. $20,000 MATCHING GRANT

Any donation made to the Vallejo High Hope Scholarship Fund will be matched up to $20,000. Every dollar ($1) becomes two dollars ($2).
